Homemade Winnie the Pooh Cake

Homemade Winnie the Pooh Cake

I made this Winnie the Pooh Cake for a work colleague. It is a 9" Madeira sponge cake.
She wanted a clean simple looking cake featuring Winnie the Pooh.

The sponge was buttercreamed all over and then covered in white fondant icing. Winnie was made from single coloured Mexican modelling paste. The arms, legs, body and head were modelled separately then glued together using sugar glue. His red top was then painted with food colouring as was his eyes and nose.

The grass and flowers were made from fondant, the honey is clear edible gel coloured to suit.
