Coolest Worm Dirt Cake

I made this homemade worm dirt cake for my son’s 3rd birthday. He loves everything mud, bugs, worms and more so what better way to give him his own edible mud pile with bugs, worms even eatable rocks. Firstly I made a Mud cake slab, after the slab had cooled I broke it apart into a big bowl and just crumbled it all up (kids love doing this). I had prepared a flat tray with all foil and made some choc icing to stick the bucket down. I then just assembled the crumbled cake so it looked like a mud pile. I then added all sorts of worms (sour & normal) to the cake and a giant centipede lolly I picked up from the local lolly shop. To make it look even better I added a couple of Tonka trucks with some edible candy coated chocolate rocks to the cake. Once assembled I made a chocolate ganache AKA MUD! I poured only a little of this over the cake so it gave it a wet muddy look and I had the extra ganache in a bowl next to the cake. The kids took turns to serve their own cake out using the shovel and some even asked for extra mud (ganache). They all just loved it (and so did the parents). This homemade worm dirt cake was very easy, very messy and very yummy!!
