Homemade Wow Wow Wubbzy Cake
This Wow Wow Wubbzy Cake was a birthday cake that I bartered for some other artwork. I'm just starting out baking so I'm taking any and all requests that sound fun and a little 'adventurous'.
It was for a 3 year old's birthday, and his dad requested a Wow Wow Wubbzy cake, but without any other specifics. I have two young kids and surprisingly hadn't heard of Wubbzy before the request was made. So I had to do some research (which my kids also enjoyed!).
Instead of just a sheet cake with small toppers or a cut out cake, I thought I would build up, and here are the results. It is 3 tiers- chocolate (3 layers), yellow (3 layers) and funfetti (the half dome). The bottom two layers are covered in a Swiss buttercream and the gumpaste cutouts and the top layer is covered in fondant. I used homemade gumpaste and fondant as well as homemade frosting. Wubbzy is fondant covered rice krispy treats.
Overall, took me about 15 hours to complete, start to finish.
