Coolest Xbox Birthday Cake

This Xbox Birthday Cake was made for my son’s 9th birthday. It is two 13×9 cakes filled with cookies and cream ice cream. I baked the two sheet cakes after cooling. I then filled it with the ice cream covered with a light layer of buttercream frosting and then froze.

After it set I then added the last layer of frosting and added some decorative elements. The “vent” look on top was created using a Lego to stamp the bumps and then I took a paintbrush with black food coloring to fill in to make the grey effect.

The sides and front of the console are done in fondant. The opening of the console has “ZaxBox” stamped into it using the back of my paintbrush to push into the fondant. The on off button has been painted with green food coloring to have the look of it being “on”.

The controllers are pound cake. I then iced them and covered them in fondant and sculpted fondant buttons and used chocolate candies for the colorful buttons. Be careful with the chocolate candies, put them on last so that the color doesn’t bleed on the fondant.
