Homemade Dalmatian Cake

My daughter Montana who just turned 6 wanted a dalmatian puppy so much! I decided to make her a cake of her dream dog! I made a cake in a bundt pan and then another in a medium sized ball cake pan. The ball pan always needs to be trimmed so the two halves set together even. I used the part I cut off to make the ears later in decorating.

I set the ball in the middle of the bundt cake. Frosted it white, added black spots using a flower tip. I gave him blue eyes and a little red tongue sticking out. I used wooden skewers to attach the ears. The cut pieces of cake used for the ears were going to be hard to frost so instead I just piped the white frosting over them. I then piped black spots and filled in where ever you could see cake (we didn’t serve the ears).

The cake was a huge hit at her party and now I have been challenged to make a beagle one!  This cake was super easy to make and a lot of fun to share with our family and friends!
