Diaper Cake

I was supposed to make a real edible cake for a baby shower so I was searching to get ideas. Somehow I ended up on this site. Well I never got to do the cake since the girl went into labor the day before her shower. An old friend send me an invitation that she was having a shower this month and decided that I would turn the edible cake into a usable one.

Since I have five kids of my own and on a tight budget I went out and bought two size one mega packs at wall-mart for about five bucks per bag. I had help tying the diapers since I have two older kids. I got a couple of baking pans and filled them up with the diapers and then tied them up with the ribbons I already had. The rest of the stuff was already lying in my closet since I do a lot of crafting.

It took me about an hour and a half to finish my cake. It turned out pretty good I think. The only bad thing is that my son hurt himself playing football in school so we never made it to the shower.
