I made this Monkey Diaper Cake for a friend at work. It was for her first grandson, Bentley. The mother of the baby had a "Monkey" theme and wished for the cake to go along with that theme. It has a total of 4 tiers and I used about 150 diapers total. It has 4 blankets that I used on it, 3 for the cake itself and one to cover the board I put it on.
I bought lotions, soaps, wipes, and toys at the local Walmart. I made the monkeys you see on the cake myself with foam paper from the local craft store. I got plain letters at the Walmart and painted them accordingly. All items are either taped, glued to the accent ribbon around each tier, or I made ribbon hangers for the items so they wouldn't be ruined.
I spent a total of $100.00 on this cake, but the grandmother paid for it.
I made a fanned diaper cake for a new baby girl my friend just had. I used size 2 diapers so she could enjoy the cake for a while before taking it apart to use the diapers. I went simple and just used a rose satin ribbon with a sage green decorative ribbon in the center which i hot glued directly to the rose ribbon to prevent puckering or slipping. Then i tied simple green raffia in a knot around all 3 tiers. I just tucked in some of the clipped orchids and u used a slim dowel rod through the center just to keep the tiers from slipping off while i carry it. I love how feminine and classy it came out. I love the look of the fan method much better than the rolling one. But you cant add gifts as easy.
This Jungle Toy Diaper Cake Idea was the first diaper cake I ever did. My cousin was having a baby and I was super excited and none of us had ever been to a shower with a diaper cake. So I decided to make one.
This cake has everything you need to take care of a baby except the bath stuff I had made something else for all of that. It has tons of toys, baby food utensils, Desitin diaper rash cream, 3 pairs of socks, 2 onsies, a thermometer, brush and comb set, fingernail clippers, 2 bottles for the center, and 36 size 1 diapers and 36 size 2 diapers.
Everyone loved it, she loved it so much she asked me to host the shower!
This jungle themed diaper cake is made up of 64 pieces of Pampers New Swaddlers diapers.
To hold the two bottom tiers together, i used a 9 oz baby bottle. Then I used a rolled cardboard with two onesies inside to hold the middle and top tiers and used the excess cardboard sticking out as tree trunk.
I then used fake leaves to accentuate the tree trunk to make it look like a tree. I wrapped the tier of diapers with baby blankets with safety pins.
I used same pins to hold the toy giraffe in place. I placed brown confetti strips in between the tiers and added the final touches (J&J baby products, small jar of baby food) to complete this diaper cake.
