Disney cake

This is a three layer butter cake my mom and I made for my son's first birthday. We used fondant for the icing. I separated the fondant in to sections and kneaded the color into them using Wilton's gel colors. Once the correct color had been achieved I rolled it out with a rolling pin and carefully worked it onto the layer from top to bottom. Just rubbing it with your hand starting at the top and working it down the sides slowly. You need to be very careful not to rip the fondant. Each layer has it's own filler. I bought figurines from the Disney store to put on top. We used cookie cutters for the decorations around the layers which were also made from fondant. They needed to be cut and then dried over night to make them hard for the 3D effect. We used a homemade butter icing as the glue to hold the fondant decorations on the cake and under the fondant that surrounds the cake.
