Homemade Dog Birthday Cake

I made this Dog Birthday Cake for a 12yr old's birthday, that loved dogs. It is made out of Wilton wonder pans, 6 inch round pans and oval pans.

The front legs were cut from the 6 inch rounds and the rear legs from one oval that was cut in half. The body is made from the remaining oval and the remains of the cut 6 inch rounds.

The eyes are wiggle eyes, the nose, tongue and bone are all fondant. The ears were cut out of a cake board and the tail was made out of foil all were covered with fondant.

The flowers are made out of royal icing. The birthday girl was totally trilled. The cake was a big hit at the party.

Homemade Dog Bone Cake

I made this homemade dog bone cake for the arrival of my sisters new puppy named GRUX. I used MMF to cover the whole cake. This was my very first cake I covered with fondant. I baked dog bone shaped cookies and placed them around the cake. I used a small dab of icing to old them in place.

I piped the grass around the edge of the top of the homemade dog bone cake. I poured a small amount of cocoa powder on two of the corners of the cake board to resemble dirt and piped the opposite corners with green icing or grass. I added some little "presents" in the grass using chocolate icing :)

Homemade Dog Birthday Cake

This is a Dog Birthday Cake I made for my niece for her 6th birthday. She loves dogs and was having a dog themed birthday. I made the body from a 9x13 pan and cut it in half, stacking one on top of the other with icing in between.

For the head I used a loaf pan and carved it to look like a dog head. I used rice crispies to form the legs. I covered it in butter cream icing since my niece doesn't like the taste of fondant and used fondant for the spots and eyes instead.

Homemade Dog Food Bowl Birthday Cake

My granddaughter wanted a Dog Food Bowl Birthday Cake filled with peanut butter cereal. She didn't want a dog, just the bowl, but also wanted the bowl on a rug. The colors are what she asked for.

The bowl was baked using 2 boxes of cake mixes in a very big very old heavy spaghetti pot. I used a heater core to ensure even baking.

The dog bones are sugar cookies.

I made this Homemade Dog Birthday Cake for my eldest niece Tammy. She had a Yorkshire terrier for her birthday so I wanted to make a sugar model of her pup. I covered the cake in fondant and piped writing. The dog and bed and toys are all hand made from sugar paste (fondant icing).
