Dora Birthday Cake

My mom made this cake for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. I was the assistant. She used the Wilton Dora cake pan which used a box cake mix – easy. She used a homemade butter cream frosting. She followed the instructions for decorating/frosting.

The most difficult part of the entire process was following the outlines on the cake to make sure the right color frosting was in the right place. Mom’s suggestion is to make sure the cake pan is very well greased so that the cake turns out with definite imprints. I had never made a homemade character cake so I was blown away by how many little bowls of various colored frosting we had sitting around the kitchen.

The cake was a HUGE hit at her party!!
