I made this Dora 2nd Birthday Cake for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday. Dora the Explorer is her favorite show so of course that is what I had to do for her birthday. The top tier is a 8" butter cake with raspberry filling and butter cream icing and the bottom tier is a 10" chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream icing.

I covered the cake board and both tiers in fondant. All the decorations are made of fondant. I used cutters and impression mats to make the flowers, tree leaves, bushes and stars. The barn, sun, mountain, cloud, Tico's car and 2 are hand made. I used a clay extruder to make the rainbow and the vines. The letters were made with FMM Tappits.

Dora's friends I got with a book. They are smaller(average about 1" to 1 1/2") then the play set figures. The Dora and Boots on top are from a play set. This cake was a labor of love for my darling granddaughter. I have about 25 hours of work in this cake. Thanks for Looking!!!

Dora Cake

I made this Dora cake for my stepdaughter's birthday. It was a last minute decision to have a little party for her and she loves Dora so I figured I would try my best at making her a Dora Cake.

I had a bunny pan from an after easter sale I got at the grocery store and I cut off the bottom bump for the bunny's mouth.

I used food coloring to tint the icing for her face and got an idea to use melted chocolate chips for the hair from this website I think. I followed a picture of Dora that my parents bought my little girl when she was born. Oh, and I used a piece of Laffy Taffy for her mouth.

It came out pretty good for a beginner and my stepdaughter knew right away that it was Dora so that's all that matters!

Homemade Dora Cake

Homemade Dora Cake

The Dora cake that I had made was the first birthday cake I had ever made. My daughter who was having her third birthday, had asked me to please make her cake. I did buy the box cake mix and also the already made icing.

I started by baking the cake and cup cakes the night before. When they were done baking I wrapped them tight, and decorated them the next day. I added green icing color to the icing, and began icing the entire cake, after that I put a blue river through the middle with blue sparkle icing in a tube. I then used a grass tip and outlined the cake and the river.

I applied the palm trees and Dora & her friends, and the cake was complete.

My auntie wanted me to make her daughter a birthday cake and I had made my daughter a Dora cake so my auntie liked the cake I made for my own daughter and wanted me to make the Dora cake for her daughters birthday.

I made the Dora cake from 2x 24 cm cake pan and 2x white wing chocolate moist cake. For the Dora I traced around the drawing I had done of her and after I traced around the Dora on the icing I then filled in the middle with a tooth pick and done her eyes mouth nose etc.

I used icing and coco for her hair and mocha for her face. I'm looking into more cartoon cakes, soon will post more when I make them.
