My daughter is crazy about Dora the Explorer, so I had to make her a Dora Cake for her 3rd Birthday.
First I downloaded a printable of Dora from Nick Jnr Website. Then I made a plain chocolate sponge cake. I used a large rectangular roasting tin as she had lots of friends to share the cake with. I covered the cake in ready-rolled white icing. I then traced the Dora picture onto baking paper and then placed it on top of the white icing and using a skewer I drew the outline of Dora. I then mixed up icing to the right colours to fill in the picture.
It took quite a few hours to create but well worth it - I think!!
The Klayeah Cassandra Dora Birthday Cake was made for my daughter's 3rd birthday. And it was made with Marshmallow Fondant. The base of the cake is 2 tier of white on the lower tier and chocolate on the upper with my own recipe of coconut cream filling and pineapple jam. The Dora figure is just a Dora Doll dug in a big cup cake mold with red velvet cake, which I put upside down and did some trimmings.
I dressed the Dora Doll with Marshmallow fondant. It was my masterpiece so far since I'm a newbie in cake baking. And my daughter loved it so much.

This is a Dora cake I made for my 3 yr old. I just made a 1/4 sheet cake and used a pampered chef bowl to make the dress part of my Dora princess. I decorated the sheet cake first and then added the dress on top to decorate. I used a small Dora figure for the doll part. I used the lid to an old jewelry box for the present and cut 3 small holes in it for the candles. We attached it to her hands using a rubberband that we ran through the box.
This is my first attempt at making and decorating a cake. I made this Dora cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday party. It took about 4 hours to decorate it.
I used green frosting in place of the blue frosting since the party colors were purple and green. I used a basic buttercream recipe and just a box of yellow cake mix. Note: Make more buttercream icing than what cake pan instructions call for. It turned out really well for being a first timer!
My daughter wanted a Dora cake for her 4th birthday. I used a sheet cake pan with buttercream frosting. I used the spray food color for the grass and water. Plus, a little sanding sugar for the water.
I bought a play set with Dora, friends and cake. The pebbles are chocolate covered raisins and the trees are cookies with cilantro at the top. A little piping and flowers here and there completed the cake. She loved it.
I made this cake for my 3 years old daughter birthday at her daycare. She loves Dora, so I came out with this cake getting some ideas from this site. I also used some cupcakes with the same colors around the main cake. It was made with homemade fondant icing. Hope you like it!
