Homemade Dukes of Hazzard Cake

I made this Dukes of Hazzard Cake for my son's fourth birthday. He loves anything that has to do with the Dukes. I used a 9x13 cake as a base and a loaf sized cake to cut the ramps. I cut the ramps at an angle and covered everything in a thin layer of icing. I bought the cars off of Ebay in a set for pretty cheap. I used crushed graham crackers for the dirt. I used a grass tip to make the grass and a piping tip to make the pond. I gently pushed the police car down in the cake and my sons first reaction was "THATS AWESOME" This was very easy to do and completely made his entire birthday!

My son, Nick used to watch The Dukes of Hazzard on CMT and just loved the '69 Dodge Charger. He wanted to have his 7th birthday party at Big Daddy's Racing (an RC racing place). The lightbulb went off in my head. I dreamt up this monster of a cake. It required 3 boxes of cake mix, several tubs of frosting, and a lot of red and yellow frosting!

The windows, windshield, flag decal, and racing numbers were made of fondant. Tires were of course chocolate donuts. As you can see, the homemade Dukes of Hazzard cake was very big and heavy and required a support underneath. The boys wanted to eat the donut wheels.
