Homemade Monster Jam

by Jennifer
(Burton, MI )

I made this cake for my sons 3rd birthday party. It is made of 4 1/4 sheet cakes, 2 yellow and 2 chocolate. I put the cakes together to form 1 cake and then I lined the cake for the track with chocolate frosting after the whole track was laid out I filled in the track with frosting, I used my rose tip seems it was the tip that does somewhat of a straight line, then I took a butter knife and smoothed out the track so you couldn't see the lines. For the grass I used a bigger star tip because I didn't have a grass tip. I crushed up chips ahoy cookies for the "dirt" and just laid the "dirt" on the track. For the hills my Fiance cut them out of an extra cake we baked for "parts". Then we just placed the monster trucks and cars where we wanted them to be and that was the end of our Monster Jam Birthday cake. Everyone loved it and couldn't not believe I did this cake. If you would like to see my Elmo cake I did last year its under the coolest Elmo Birthday cake Idea 136. Thanks for looking at my cakes.

Homemade Monkey Cake

by Jennifer B.
(Marksville, Louisiana)

This monkey cake was all edible. Monkeys were made from gumpaste and cake was covered in rolled fondant. The sign was foam paper sented with banana and the tree or pole was a large pretzel stick. This cake took 7 hours to decorate! My first ever monkey cake! I made the monkeys by hand without any visual help, and the bananas were yellow fondant shaped to look like babanas of course. There was a big banana in the front of the cake my friend carved out of gumpaste that I painted with gel color to get it yellow but for some reason that banana didnt make it into the picture. My nephew and family loved the cake, Jackson was a happy little monkey!!

Homemade Mustang Cake

Mustang Cake

Mustang Cake

This one took me a pretty long time to make and sculpt. We made a custome cake board and the car is cake, the mirrors and tires are rice crispy treats. I worked strictly from a picture and I had to scale down based by sight. It was so much fun to make. I would love to make another car cake. It was for a 30th surprise birthday. And he loved it.

Hi there thanks for the nice comments. It took me a while to sculpt and decorate this cake but it was so fun for me. I didn't want the car directly on the board to make the tires flat looking so I made a special cake board for this one.

I am in Walnutport, PA which is not far from Allentown, PA

Coolest Mountain Bike Birthday Cake

by Julia
(Onalaska)

6/9/2012 - I made this cake for my husband Rick's brother Matt's 40th birthday cake for his surprise party.
The bottom layer is homemade darn good chocolate cake, the top two layers are marble with chocolate fudge butter cream filling and frosted with butter cream frosting and chocolate decorations. The trees are made with sugar cone and frosted with royal icing. The chocolate pieces are done with chocolate candy melts.
