Girls birthday cake

Girls birthday cake

This cake was actually made for three occasions in one big party. The main event was my niece's 1st birthday, but it was celebrated on the 4th of July...in their brand new home. So, the top tier was for my niece's birthday, the second tier represents the housewarming party and the bottom tier is to celebrate Independence day. The cake was mostly done in pink, white and blue to also represent this. We took the top tier off and let that be the birthday girl's "smash" cake.
It was made with French Vanilla cake and Strawberry cake layers with a whipped Strawberry icing/filling. There was also a homemade pink buttercream icing underneath the fondant. Everything is edible on the cake except the crown and stars on top and the pink drop earrings around the garland on the top.
I have made lots of cakes in the past but this was my first cake made with so much detail. Also only my third tiered cake. It was fun but did take a lot of time to finish. Hope you like =)

Homemade FSU money cake

by Jaime
(Bradenton FL)

This cake was made for my little brother for his 28th birthday. He is a huge FSU fan and loves money :) so we put the two together. The cake that you cake see is actually a stack of money we just airbrushed the sides green and then with a paint brush painted lines acrossed it to make it look like a stack of money the top bill was hand painted by my sister she did an amazing job. she even went as far as to put both are signatures in place of the other signatures on the cake if you look close enough you can see the other ways she personalized it for him. we also made him a pizza cake with I will eventually get that posted on here in just a few mintues

Homemade cupcake birthday cake

by Angela
(Johnston Pembrokeshire)

These cute cupcakes were a delight to make, you can use chocolate or vanilla cake mix as both work equally well,I made these as a practice exercise and they went down a treat. I used buttercream on top of the cakes and the grass was made by adding green food cokouring to some coconut. The little animal heads are really easy to make, just colour some pieces of fondant icing and copy what you see or make your own design. The flowers are also made from fondant icing and cut out using a flower cutter, both the animal heads and flowers need time to dry out so are best made a few days in advance.

Homemade Fireworks Cake

by Robert B
(New Jersey)

This is a cake I made for my daughters 8th birthday party. It is supported by pvc tubing and some gas pipe hardware. The base is made of 3/4 plywood to give it added weight. The cake stood 44" tall! Its my biggest one yet. I used heavy boards to support the cake which I painted white to blend in with the cake.
I also used the garland to hide the piping and the wood base. She loved the cake.

Homemade Garden Cake

by Lucy
(Wigan UK)

I made this cake for my other nanas birthday!

I used 10" round cake tins for the cake.

The cake is a vanilla sponge with strawberry and butter cream icing middle.

I made all the butterflies and flowers and bumblebees out of fondant while using Wilton gel icing colouring for the appropriate colours to dye the fondant.

Fall Birthday Cake

by Kristina Boroff
(Emmett, Michigan)

We were having a birthday party for my niece and daughter, I asked what she wanted and she said something with the fall colors. So I just started by making a tree with the frosting and started adding the different colored leaves to it as I went. I was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.
