I made this mini cake for my mother-in-law's 77th Birthday. It is a white chocolate cake with pudding between the two tiers. I used a vanilla cake mix and added white choclate chips and white chocolate pudding to the mix. I frosted it with Wilton's ready made white frosting tinted with cocoa to make it tan. I sprayed it with Wiltons lavender food color spray and decorated with jelly beans and candles shaped like wine, grapes, cheese and a bread basket. She really loved this cake!! This is one of Five cakes I made for a quadruple birthday party and the first time I've ever made my own rather than purchase..I had a lot of fun!
I put a lot of thought into this cake but once I started on it; it was easy. The top is a 2 layer 8" cake that was not leveled then simply frosted to look like a carosel top and put on an upside down serving platter. Bottom is 2 layer 9" cake on a Christmas plate. Ponies are simple candy sticks with gummy ponies I got at Walgreens. The center of the top were lollipops also from walgreens. I put a dowel rod in the center of the top cake plate and a single screw to hold it in place to hold up the top and it was done.
I made this cake for my fiance's 29th birthday. The cake is 3 layers (Buns are made of vanilla cake and the burger is made of chocolate cake). The top bun was made with a half circular cake pan (Which I purchased at Michaels) and the others were cut to match its size. I made my own marshmellow fondant (Cheaper and Tastier) and I used that to cover the buns and make the cheese, pickle, tomatoe and fries. To hold the fondant on I also made my own butter icing :) I made the muffin top with left over cake batter. He loved it and it TASTED GREAT !
I made two 9x13 in pans for this Jersey Cake Design. I then made a template of the jersey shape from oak tag paper. Once the cakes were cooled I cut out the arms and top neck from one of the cakes. I just used the other one for the entire bottom part of the cake.
I tinted regular store brought white vanilla frosting royal blue. I printed the name and number for computer and used them as templates. Using piping gel then transferring it to the cake carefully. I then used a tip #21 to pipe stars along the side of the piped numbers and name.
My name is Roslyn B, I made this cake for my boyfriends mother she sent me a picture of the invitation and I made a cake that best matched it. I started out with square cakes, layered them, evened the top to make a perfect cube. I dyed chocolate icing black, covered the cake, then with fondant I cut out all the letters & ballons, I dipped a toothpick in white icing then dragged a squiggly line under the balloons for the strings on the balloons. She loved it so much !!!!!! So did everyone else at the party, I had so many request for more cakes...
The cake is a red velvet, my brother's favorite. We had a camo/hunting theme for the party. I used cream cheese frosting in between the layers. There are 2 layers, 12" and 8". The cake is covered in buttercream and then fondant. I mixed chocolate fondant(tasted like tootsie roll) with vanilla fondant and added a little brown food coloring to get it kind of marblie/wood looking. Kneaded just a little to get the marbled look. The leafs, acorns and vines were made out of fondant and dried so they'd hold up. It was a first attempt at using fondant.
