My niece asked me for a Tangled cake. She's super demanding for a four year old! :) So I decided to make Rapunzel's tower for her. I started out with eight six inch round cakes. I stacked those on top of each other and used a wooden dowel as support. Then I wrapped the tower in gray fondant and used a plastic pebble impression to give the tower the look of rocks. For the top I shaped rice crispy treats into the shape of her house. Then I covered that in fondant and used Tangled figurines to decorate. There were a lot of kids at her party so I made cupcakes to decorate the bottom of the tower.
Made for a friends 4 year old's daughters birthday. Made from a 10in square cake tin, this was then cut into for squares and then square where cut into equal circles, stacked circles on top of each other with jam and butter icing (make sure you use a firm sponge or this cake will collapse under the weight). Covered cake with butter icing followed by rolled icing. Coloured some white icing different colours for the flowers and face/hair, used a candy stick to hold the face on to the castle. The child at the party where very excited when saw the cake, but my friends daughter did get upset when it was to be cut.
This was my first attempt to make a cupcake bouquet. I am def not a professional lol but I try my hardest to put a smile on my 9 year old daughter for her birthday....All you need is a flower pot, Styrofoam balk, toothpicks, 2D tip, and a hot glue gun. To make the rose pipe from the middle and go in a circle. Place cupcakes in the fridge so the icing can firm prior to applying them to the Styrofoam. Using two toothpicks per cupcake, place the two inches apart. It was pretty easy you just have to have a little patience when putting them on...Good luck.
I made this cake for my nieces first birthday. I started by making a 3 layer nine inch cake. I then frosted it with a butter cream frosting. I made the pumpkin out of two bowl pans, and put them together to make my pumpkin. I then made my polka dots and pumpkins using marshmallow fondant. Assembling the cake was a little difficult. I put 4 wooden dowels in the base of the cake to support the pumpkin. I then moved the pumpkin(on the cake board) on to the base. I then finished the decorating!
