fairy Garden
I wanted to make a special cake for my sister (actually for baby shower). I used 2 layers 12" and 8". Each layer has 2- 2" cakes with a cappuccino filling. The cakes are covered with turquoise buttercream, then sprinkled with sparkle sugar (from Wilton) to make it sparkly. I used a grass tip to make edges and fill in areas around the cake (green grass) the tip has a flat top with a lot of holes. I topped it with a collectible fairy and I wired assorted silk flowers and greenery to wooden skewers to place around the cake. The butterflies are from a craft store, Some were attached to the cake with icing others I placed floral wire into the butterfly bodies then placed them into the cake. It does serve quite a few people so if needed could be sized down a layer or only 2 inch layers. Make sure to place about 5 or 6 dowels in the middle of the 12 inch layer to support the top one.
