Homemade Stewie Cake

Homemade Stewie Cake

My friend and I are obsessed with Family Guy and Stewie is our favorite. In my school, everyone makes their friend a cake on her birthday, so I decided to make my a Stewie cake!

It is rather simple to make. Just take a Dunkin Hines cake mix (I used the yellow cake mix) and bake it in a 14x10 inch pan. Then I let it cool, made frosting and made separate bowls of colored frosting (I was out of red food coloring so I mixed the yellow with strawberry crystalite to make orange).

To make the cake in the shape of Stewie I drew him on a piece of paper, then I cut it out. I placed the paper cutout on top of the cooled caked. I used a knife to trace the outline onto the cake, then I cut it. I spread a thin layer of frosting over the whole cake, then I got down to adding the right colors in the right spot. When I was done with that, it came time for the outline.

I took dark bakers chocolate, melted it and used a NEW never used thin paintbrush and dipped it into the chocolate. I drizzled it along the edges and over the right places to give Stewie a mouth, eyes, nose, hands, around the head, and pretty much all around the perimeter of his body.

Sorry that his ears are cut off, we couldn't wait to eat him!

Coolest Stewie Birthday Cake 12

Homemade Stewie Birthday Cake

Homemade Stewie Birthday Cake

This is a cake I made for my 12 yr old son. It is of Stewie from the family guy show on TV. I started with a round cake pan. I used a double cake mix out of the box, Betty Crocker I think. I put most of the mix in one round pan and baked that and then I took another round cake pan, and put the rest of the mix in, which was probably about 1/4 of the pan.

When the cakes where done I let them cool, you have to really watch the one with a bit of mix in so it doesn't burn. Then when it was cool I cut the thinner cake into a football shape for Stewie's head and put it on the fuller cake.

From there I proceeded to ice the cake and i used, regular icing from a container and just added food colouring to make different colours, I also used some gel writers to do the finer things, the eyes are actually marshmallows (flattened) and black licorice stuck in the middle for the eye balls, the hair is also pieces of black licorice.

This homemade Stewie birthday cake was a really amazing looking cake when we were done and my son and his friends thought it was awesome (that was the important part). Decorating didn't take that long either.

Coolest Peter Griffin Birthday Cake 2

Homemade Peter Griffin Birthday Cake

Homemade Peter Griffin Birthday Cake

I made this for my boyfriends' birthday as he is a big fan of family guy and I wanted to make him an original birthday cake.

I made it by making two rectangular pound cakes which were sandwiched together with jam and butter cream. I then carved the shape that I wanted (I made a slight hollow for the mouth and eyes) and covered the whole thing with the remaining butter cream. (I found that my cake wasn't long enough to make the whole face, so I used the off cuts to form the double chin and the nobbly parts of the chin which I stuck in place with more jam).

I then covered the whole cake in a flesh colored ready to roll icing. I used chocolate flavored ready to roll icing to make his hair. I used white icing to make his eyes, mouth and tongue (I dyed the mouth and tongue with food coloring but I couldn't quite get the exact color I wanted so I would suggest getting pre-coloured icing for this or paint it with edible paint).

I then outlined his mouth, glasses and shirt with flavored piping icing.
