We used 2 cake mixes and 2-13 x 9 cake pans for this Stewie Griffin Birthday Cake. We carved each cake using proportions from a picture we found on the internet. My daughter Jessica did the math! Good job.
I made all the icing and fondant homemade and colored using Wilton's coloring. The trick we had to use was to keep everything super cold. We live in Louisiana and it stays hot and humid. Fondant cakes are not easy.
This was a cake for my husband, Ken's 41st birthday. He loves to watch the show and Stewie is his favorite. Jessica is responsible for all the art on the face also. Isn't she talented? I just know we will have more to come! It is super fun. This cake took us 6 hours. Who knows what we will come up with next.

This year, for my husband's birthday, I decided to make him a cake with the two characters he really likes, Iron Man & Stewie from Family Guy! So I drew Stewie pointing his finger at Iron Man and saying You must obey me Iron Manas he flies away!
He loved the Stewie birthday cake and so did all our friends who saw it. I used Butter Cream Icing. For Stewie's face I piped with a #16. The blue sky I used a #18 to pipe. For the shells around cake and the dust clouds under Iron Man I piped with #21. Everything else was piped with a #3.
I made this Peter Griffin from Family Guy cake for father's day as my dad is a huge fan of the show. His favourite character is Peter and seeing as Peter is the father in the show, I thought it would be a good cake for father's day!
This website has no Peter Griffin cakes so I designed mine on my own. I drew Peter's face big enough to cover a cake, then made a frozen buttercream transfer of it, which I then stuck straight on to a cake.
Very easy and he loved it!

I made this Quagmire cake for my husband's co-worker. He is a huge fan and we wanted to surprise him for his birthday. I made a 10in cake as the base and frosted it blue. Then I baked another 10in round cake.
I printed a picture of him from the internet to use as a guide. I cut the cake in the shape of his head. Then I free-handed his outlined details and filled in with stars.
Overall, it was pretty easy and a big success. This was my first character cake ever.
I decided to make this Stewie cop cake from a clip from the Family Guy movie. It's a Hershey double chocolate cake recipe. I made a buttercream icing dyed all the colors separately. Printed out the picture from my computer and free handed the whole thing. Before free handing it I practiced drawing the actual photo so that I had an idea of how to do the shapes then I finished it off with some little designs and sprinkles on the sides.
