I used an 11X15 pan and 2 boxes of white cake mix. I mixed my buttercream in the morning and spread and thin layer of the green out on some waxed paper. I allowed it to dry and then scrapped it off and chopped it up to make the green shavings. I iced it smooth with brown and green buttercream and piped the edge. I crushed up a package of chocolate graham crackers to make the 'dirt' crumble and we added a little of the green icing crumbs to make it more realistic. My husband, who grew up on a farm, was a big help for me. I needed him to help me find the right color for the green. A small amount of yellow was used for the words. As a note, it was really hard to 'write' on the crumbs as it lifted easily. I don't know how I would have done it differently though. However, when I noticed I made an error in the words, it lifted very easily after it had been in the refrigerator and I just lifted the words and filled in with green crumbs. The tractor and disc was picked up at a local farming store and really made the cake extra fun.
