My daughter loves Nemo and fish. We decided to throw her a Nemo Birthday party. I love to bake, so I make her cakes along with my mother in law and sister in law. We wanted a great 2nd Birthday Finding Nemo Cake, so we decided to do a 3-D one. We made Nemo with cake and then iced him.
All of his fins and the coral around him is colored marshmallow fondant that I had made. I used a stuffed Nemo to get the dimensions and shapes. The shells are chocolate. We had such a great time making this and it was a huge hit! We also placed Nemo on top of another large cake and it fed plenty! Enjoy!
My 2 year old daughter just loves Nemo so I searched online for a Nemo cake to make and found this website so the idea for her cake came from all the Nemo caked already on here! I used chocolate coated sultanas for the pebbles around the edge, I used lolly snakes for the seaweed (I just cut them in half and then cut up some little pieces too), I bought 2 packets of lollies for the other fish, one was Allens "under the sea"mix and the other was coles brand "frankie and his fish friends" or something like that! Anyway thank you so much to this site for giving me that idea, my little girl absolutely loved her cake!!
I made this Finding Nemo cake for my daughter's first birthday.
My oven wasn't working so I couldn't bake her cake but I was determined to do her a special cake. I bought 2 round sponge cakes and cut bits off and around to get the shape(its the cartoon version cos it was easier for me to draw to do it off as my printer wasn't working either :)
I iced the bits together with the same butter cream icing i used to ice it. I then separated the rest of the icing and dyed half orange. The dark lines and eyes I did with chocolate.
