Fire Truck Birthday Cake

i made two cakes for my cousins 2nd birthday, one for his party and one for his actual birthday just for family. this cake was just for family. it is much smaller than the one i made for his party. whenever we pass a fire truck or a fire station he always gets so excited so i thought that when he saw this cake he would just go crazy, which he did.
for this cake i used betty crocker white cake. for the back part i used a loaf pan and for the engine u used a little 8x4 i think and divided that into 2/3 and 1/3. so i put the bigger piece down first then the smaller one on top against the loaf cake. the frosting i used was homemade but it took a whole squirt tube of red to get it that dark. my dad and i went shopping at sprouts trying to find candy that would work for the buttons, the fire houses, wheels etc. the fire houses are licorice but they are root beer flavored, i have never seen that flavor before but it was just the right color so we had to get them. even though we only used about 3 of them no one in our house really liked them.
