I made this November Embrace Tiered Flower Cake for my birthday this year. I wanted to do a wedding style cake so I chose this style.
The top tier was lemon cake and raspberry buttercream. The middle tier was yellow cake with chocolate buttercream. The third tier was chocolate cake with Oreo cookie buttercream. It was 10in,8in, and 6in.
I made the flowers, tree trunk and branches out of MMF. In each flower I glued with icing a sugar pearl. There were 175 flowers. The cake was crumb iced and covered in MMF I tinted slightly with brown Wilton coloring to make it an ivory or cream color. I put gold luster dust into some icing and piped the bead trim. This gave it a gold sheen.
The buttercream icing recipe is from C&H powdered sugar. Everyone loved my cake and I am getting a lot more clients now!

I made this Spring Flower basket cake using the Course 2 materials from Wilton. There are spring flowers on top made with royal icing - the book gives the specific directions. The bluebird was made by tracing an outline of a bird with royal icing.
Once dried (only a few minutes), I thinned the icing down to pourable consistency. I slowly tipped it into the outline to cover all the areas, but not so much as it will run over the outline. It must dry several days and you should make extras because they break easily.
The outside of the cake is covered in a basketweave. I used a small oblong pan. TIP: Do not use a large pan. The basketweave takes a lot of time to do. There is actually a cake pan that comes with the course 2 materials.
I made this Spring Birthday Cake Idea for my mother; cake is made of 2-1/4 sheet cake. The top layer cake is cut diagonally in order to give a "lavadero" shape like. Cake layers are of strawberries flavor and the filling is made of fresh strawberries cream.
Flower and butterfly are made of gum paste; I brushed them with lemon juice and edible glitter. The 2-layer Cake is smooth with buttercream and also the borders are made of buttercream.
