Coolest Ketchup Cake

Homemade Ketchup Cake

Homemade Ketchup Cake

This cake is for the ULTIMATE Ketchup lover!
The cake is made from a recipe I stumbled across called "Surprise Chocolate Cake", which actually contains KETCHUP! What a riot!

The cake was simply cut into a ketchup bottle shape, iced with BRIGHT red icing (I used 2 big and 1 small bottle of food coloring) the label was made from colored fondant. All the detail on the label was simply modeled from a Heinz ketchup bottle. I personalized the label to say the year of birth, and a 20 for the big ketchup loving birthday boy!

It was fun to make and not really difficult. My sister and I had a blast making it together. I got the general idea from this site, however the rest is history. I hope you get inspired to make something awesome after checking out the ultimate Ketchup Cake! Enjoy!

Coolest Full English Breakfast Birthday Cake 11

by Ruth

Homemade Full English Breakfast Birthday Cake

Homemade Full English Breakfast Birthday Cake

This full English breakfast birthday cake was created out of two oblong sponges. I used the traditional Victoria sponge cake recipe of 10ozs of flour, sugar and vegetable fat and 2ozs of coco powder, and 3 eggs.

The top of the cakes were cut off and the two cut surfaces were stuck together with chocolate butter icing. I then warmed a little strawberry jam and brushed all over the two sponges.

I then colored white molded icing to create the table cloth, plate, cutlery, beans, bacon, egg, waffles and mushrooms. The table cloth was then laid onto the sponges and then I added the plate, bacon, beans etc. I also made a knife and fork and placed next to the plate.

At times the molded shapes had to be put into the fridge as they get quite sticky when your hands are warm.

Coolest Dunkin Donuts Cake 2

Homemade Dunkin Donuts Cake

Homemade Dunkin Donuts Cake

I made this Dunkin Donuts Cake for a Home and Gardens competition for the Monmouth County Fair. It was my first contest and I won second place. First would have been great but I was still proud of myself and kids were too, that made it more exciting.

I made the donuts out of rice krispies. I made the jelly for the jelly donut and Munchkins by melting red Swedish fish in the microwave for about 10 -15 seconds.

When cooked enough to handle I put it on the donut. Everyone thought the donuts were real. The mug base was pound cake covered with fondant. The mug handle was rice krispies.

I secured it with skewers. The DD on the front of the cake is also made out of fondant.

Coolest Hot Dog And Fries Cake 3

Homemade Hot Dog and Fries Cake

Homemade Hot Dog and Fries Cake

This Hot Dog and Fries cake is such a fun, easy cake to make. It's a bit of a cheat because it starts with a purchased pound cake.

I cut the ends of it off and then into strips - this becomes the fries. In a dollar store, I found plastic cups which, when filled with strawberry sauce, look like little ketchup cups.

The wiener portion is simply the middle of the loaf cut out. The cake is covered in fondant and green gum drop candy becomes relish. Putting it on a plate makes the look complete!

Coolest Dunkin Donuts Cake

Homemade Dunkin Donuts Cake

Homemade Dunkin Donuts Cake

I made this Dunkin Donuts Cake for someone's wedding shower, it's a sheet cake carved and built out of yellow cake and I piped everything out in butter cream icing.

I made the donuts in the creative mood that I was in, so if you do it have fun with it and create your own fun donuts! The letters were out of fondant. It was definitely a challenge making this cake but it was worth it as I found I can do anything I put my mind to.

This cake is amazing. I was hoping to do something similar for my friend's birthday. I know you used fondant for the letters, but did you have a special tool to cut them out so evenly?

I made this Homemade Grilled Cheese Cake with Tomato Soup for my sister’s 19th birthday. Her favorite sandwich is grilled cheese, and what’s grilled cheese without tomato soup!?

I used a sandwich bread shaped pan and made my favorite pound cake recipe. The “cheese” is tinted cream cheese frosting. I put the “tomato soup”, aka strawberry puree, in her favorite soup mug. My daughter bought her auntie a yodeling pickle for her birthday, so we used that as the pickle on the side! It was a hit!
