I baked this F1 Mercedes 45th Birthday Cake for my husband’s birthday. Three days before the time, I baked a very moist chocolate cake. I baked 1 big cake and 2 smaller ones.
I molded and shaped the cake in a car shape, and put chocolate icing on it. I then covered the cake in gray fondant with edible sparkles. I made the wheels out of rice cakes and covered in black fondant. I made the spoilers and other car décor out of fondant and waited for it to harden.
I put the edible stickers and other hardened fondant on the car with icing as my glue. The wheels I attached to the car with tooth picks (the only things that weren’t edible.
I sent a friend of mine a sms while busy with the wheels. I told her the car didn’t even take a drive yet and the one wheel had a puncher. I was struggling to fix it. She laughed her head off when she got the sms.
I made a simple Madeira cake for this F1 Car Birthday Cake and cut the shape out. I used jam and buttercream for the middle of the cake and simple sugarpaste icing on top of the cake. The cake took quite some time to decorate however it was worth it as it was for my young step brother who was 16. He loves the F1 racing and he absolutely loved the cake.
I haven't done any courses of yet, this is about my 3rd cake.
