Giant Hello Kitty Cake

Hello Kitty is sitting on a stack of cakes in the shapes of presents. I used a bear mold and shaved the bear's face to form Hello Kitty's flat face. To form the pointy ears, I shaved them. CAUTION when baking, the heat conducting core leaves a cavity in the face area; so, you may need to fill with a buttercream and cake mix. The cake flavor is devils food, covered in buttercream, covered in fondant. Luster dust was used on the dress and butterflies. All the details are made of colored fondant. Tootpicks covered in black fondant were used for the wiskers. I let the butterflies dry on flower formers. The banner is fondant and the name was stamped on then filled in with buttercream. I wiped off the extra buttercream with a damp napkin. Flower formers were placed on the tips of the banner to form the curved shape. I placed evenly cut shish kabob sticks in the center of the cakes to keep stable when stacked.

Hello KITTY
by: Tu hermana

I love the colors you chose for the cake, ghetto background but all in all it was a beautiful art piece. I just hope next time for my son's birthday party you'll make something as extravagant as you did for your comrades cake.
