Why should you buy a used cake pan on eBay?

- On eBay you'll find almost every cake pan that has ever existed
- You know exactly what you're getting (and you know it'll work... ;-)
- You'll probably use it only once, so why even think about buying a new one?!

My grandson wanted a Godzilla cake so his mom purchased the monsters and I made the cake. It was a two layer quarter sheet cake. I used a scratch chocolate cake with Bavarian cream filling and almond buttercream icing. I sprayed the cake with green and black food coloring (I used the Wilton cake spray; be careful of the green some of them are mint flavored). I tinted piping gel blue and used that for Godzilla's coming out of the water onto Monster Island. Some crushed vanilla wafers were used for the sand next to the water and I set chocolate "boulders and rocks" in different areas of the cake.

I bordered the cake in green grass using tip #233 and used plastic trees in the corners. I piped the lettering on the side of the cake using a #3 tip and tried duplicating the writing in the Godzilla movie. It was a double party for both my grandson and my granddaughter. She liked his cake better than her own which was a Barbie cake. Everyone commented how cool the cake looked and it was gone in no time!

This Godzilla cake was to say the least a monster. It is four layers of cake and a full foot tall. I started by stacking the layers with buttercream between each layer and then I used a sharp knife and carved out the shape. The entire cake is covered in buttercream and the color was all done with an airbrush. The detail work was also done in butter cream. The teeth are gum paste.
