Homemade Graduation Cake

The following cake is a chocolate cake stacked on top is also a chocolate cake. The bottom layer is covered in gold fondant (colored using golden yellow and white fondant). The top is covered in blue fondant (used premade blue fondant). The braides are made in contrasting colors by rolling thin strips and braiding. The letters are cut out of the remaining fondant. The eagle on top is the schools mascot. I cut the general shape and then painted the fondant by hand using wilton color tints and vanilla. The key is to put some color on a piece of wax paper and keep the vanilla seperate and just dip your brush in the vanilla and dab the tint on the paper until you get the desired consistency. The accents are held in place by using a little water on the back and placing it to dry.

Coolest Kindergarten Graduation Cake 39

Homemade Kindergarten Graduation Cake

Homemade Kindergarten Graduation Cake

For this homemade kindergarten graduation cake I started with a 9x9 cake pan and a small glass bowl pan. I used a yellow butter cake recipe. I then used fondant tinted to make the graduate, diploma and to cover the cap. The top of the cap is actually a piece of cardboard. The bottom of the cap is the bowl cake covered in fondant glued together with buttercream.

The cake kindergarten graduation cake is frosted with buttercream frosting and I used a shell border to finish it off. I would say the little graduate was the hardest part of the cake.

The following cake is a white cake stacked on top is also a chocolate cake. The bottom and top layers are covered in white fondant. The ribbon around the center, top circle and lettering is cut out of precolored red fondant. I created the graduate on top out of precolored red fondant, precolored skin colored fondant. I made my own diploma out of white fondant and wrapped a small piece of red around it. I also created a smaller second one for the graduate to hold. The decorations on top are imprinted by using the cake decorator impressions kit.

Graduation Cake 14

Graduation Cake

Graduation Cake

This is the cake I made for my daughter's preschool graduation. I got the ideas from this website. It is a 9 inch cake made from cake mix.

I made the cap using a two-bite brownie at the bottom and cut a square from a chocolate bar for the top. I then dyed chocolate pudding black using food colouring and spread over the cap.

Then I used the Wilson hair tip and red icing to make the tassel. For the certificate, I use a wafer roll to make it. I like this cake!

Peanut Graduation Cake 13

Peanut Graduation Cake

Peanut Graduation Cake

A friend of mine's daughter was graduating from High School and he asked if I could make a cake shaped like a peanut (because that is his nickname for her). I think I did a pretty good job on it.

It is all homemade including the cake batter, Italian buttercream base layer and the white chocolate fondant.

It was baked in a full sheet sized pan and carved by hand and decorated with airbrushing and gold pearlized dust. The tassel was made out of fondant as well.
