Guitar Cake

This is a guitar cake I made for my daughter’s 8th birthday. She, like every other 8 year old girl in the world, loves Hannah Montana. I searched the internet for a cake that my daughter would like. I found the idea for a guitar on ,you guessed it, this site.

I used 2 cake mixes. I put each one in a 9×13 pan and baked according to package directions. When cooled, I placed a template for the guitar shape over one cake and cut it out using a sharp knife. I drew this freehand by looking at a picture my daughter had.

Then, I cut the other cake to make the neck of the guitar. I placed them together on a foil covered board and coated them with a crumb coat to seal in the crumbs. I used a homemade butter cream icing and chose the colors of the cake to match the rest of the party decorations. I added a couple of pictures of Hannah and Miley and secured them with icing. I did this by cutting out a couple of pieces of plastic and sticking some Hannah and Miley stickers onto it.

This cake was a huge hit with the girls at her party.

  1. Hello, u did a great job on this cake! How did u get the marshmallows to stick on the sides of the cake? I’m making my niece a HM cake and i’ll probably use your idea.
Did u just pipe that design on the cake? It’s so…….cute!
