Homemade Guitar Birthday Cake

Homemade Guitar Birthday Cake

I wanted to make a Guitar Birthday Cake for my friend's birthday. I have never made a cake before. I decided to start with two large rectangular cakes. I tried to color the cake, the green came out the best. I free hand cut the shape of a guitar. Then I frosted it with sweet butter cream icing. I then rolled out white fondant and placed it over the entire top.

I then smoothed out the fondant and designed a flame template. I used a toothpick to embed the design into the fondant. I then removed the template and started painting with gel coloring. To make the frets I rolled toothpicks in tin foil, to make the knobs I covered rolos in tin foil, to make the parts for the strings I used kit kats, gum drops, and string.

I then used thick electrical cable from Home Depot for the cord to the amp. It was a blast to make the cake. My next cake will be a converse Chuck Taylor, and an Astros Jersey.

Homemade Guitar Birthday Cake

I used a picture to design this Guitar Birthday Cake. It was the first cake I have ever tried to make that wasn't a regular sheet cake. I made it for my friend, Abraham's 25th Birthday. He LOVED it!

I used 2 13x9 cakes. I free handed the outline with a small paring knife, dipped in warm water. I used marshmallows for the tuning bolts on the head. I shaped the tuning knobs from foil. I used icing for the strings. I cut small circles from the excess cake for the volume knobs. I used Wilton "Red-Red" and "Black" icing coloring and just regular Betty Crocker white frosting.

There were a total of 3 parts, put together by icing. The head stalk, the neck and the body of the guitar. I know the neck was a little crooked but it was my first one and I was proud of myself. I hope you enjoy it as much as everyone at the party. Have a good day!

I made this Guitar Birthday Cake for my brother's birthday. I used Marshmallow fondant and tinted it blue. Kept a portion of it white for the strings, tinted a portion black for the middle.

The fondant was really easy to work with. Much easier than regular frosting. I just rolled it out thin and had my husband help me lift it and place on cake. The cake was made from a mold. Then just cut around and smoothed it out.

I love this cake! My 2 year old son loves guitars, and this gives me some ideas for his 3rd birthday in November. I've been curious about working with fondant, and this will give me an opportunity to try it.

I needed to make a Hannah Montana cake for my friend's daughter. I used two 13 by 9 pans. I cut out the base of the guitar and on the other cake I cut out the handle. I used regular cake mixes which can sometimes be crumbly, so I froze the cake before I frosted it.

I also stuck it in the fridge between layers of frosting to harden the layers up. This is my Guitar Birthday Cake.

Homemade Guitar Birthday Cake

I made this guitar birthday cake for a friend of mines little girls Hannah Montana birthday party. This was the highlight of the party. It was a rather difficult cake to make. I carved the handle out of pound cake and the strings and flowers are made of fondant. The most difficult part was cutting the card board outline of the guitar.

I enjoyed all the smiles it got.

Homemade Guitar Birthday Cake

My 6 year old wanted a Hannah Montana Guitar Birthday Cake. I looked on the web and got everything you could imagine.

I finally just copied her play Hannah Montana guitar and it worked well. I used fondant over buttercream frosting and was really pleased with the results. But most important, my daughter loved it.

I made this Guitar Birthday Cake for my husband's birthday. It was a Madeira sponge baked in a large rectangular tin. I traced the guitar design onto the cake, covered it in pre-coloured icing and then iced on the strings.
