Hannah Montana Birthday Cake

This cake made our daughters’ 6th birthday complete! I started with the fondant decorations to give them two days to dry. I colored the fondant with gel coloring then rolled it out about 1/8″ thick. I cut out stars, brushed them with water and added colored sugar. For the microphone I shaped a handle and a square for the top. I then brushed the top with water and added colored sugar for a glitter effect. I attached it together with a toothpick. The Hannah Montana logo was easy. I cut out a logo off of a shoe box we had then traced it onto wax paper. I then cut it out of the rolled out fondant. I used a #3 icing tip to color in the letters then used a #2 icing tip to trace around the letters. For the guitar I printed a picture online and traced it onto wax paper. I placed it over the rolled out fondant and cut it out. I used icing tips #2 and #3 to draw the designs. I also brushed the bottom of the guitar with water and added a few star sprinkles.

For the cake, I baked a two-layer 12×18″ cake. I frosted it with buttercream frosting and piped a border around the top and bottom edges. I used a #3 icing tip to draw musical notes around the sides of the cake.

The jewelry was an added touch. I purchased them for $2.oo at a local dollar store. I then sprinkled colored sugar on the entire cake to finnish.
