I made this Hannah Montana cake for my niece and it was a real hit. I first made a 11 by 8 cake then I cut it to form the shape of a guitar. I used a toothpick to make sure that I outlined right before I cut.
Once it was in the shape that I liked, I cut it in half and put some buttercream icing for the filling and it gave it a little lift. I iced the cake all over with butter cream icing and then I did the trim with a flower tip. Once the trim was done I figured out where I wanted to put her face then I drew the face with a toothpick and then just used a small writing tip to fill in.
I made her hair using a small writing tip as well. I made some roses for trim and added the musical notes on to the cake board. It was a really easy cake and it only took me about 45 mins. I have already made several for daughter's of my friends.
This Hannah Montana Birthday Cake was a two day labor of love for a very sweet little girl! I baked the bottom layer first in a 12X18X2 Wilton rectangular pan. Crumb coated it and iced it.
Then I baked the top layer in the Hannah Montana character pan. I prepared my icing and colored it. I made the stars out of fondant. I colored the fondant and cut out the stars the night before so they had time to dry. I assembled the stars with a drop of melted white chocolate to make them stick to the stick.
To assemble the cake, I put the Hannah Montana cake on it's own cake board cut to fit the cake. I placed dowels in the bottom layer where the HM cake would sit on top of it. Then I did my decorating! I sort of followed the directions on the HM cake pan, but added my own flair to it!
The result was a fun, colorful birthday cake! I think this is one of my favorites that I have done.

My granddaughter wanted a Hannah Montana birthday cake for her 8th birthday. I thought that it would be cute for Hannah Montana to be standing on a stage as if she was in concert singing. I purchased a magazine about Hannah Montana and designed and made this backdrop using photos from it. I then made a 12"x15" sheet cake and a 10" round cake. I cut the 10" round in half and butted it up against the sheet cake, then covered them in decorator frosting. The stage is a 6" round, with a rice krispie treat step, also covered in decorator frosting, then covered in purple fondant. I positioned the stage near the back of the cake and put Hannah Montana in the center. I then cut out the rest of the decorations, runway, guitar, stars, dots, etc. out of fondant and positioned them on her cake. My granddaughter loved it and all her friends at her party thought it was pretty cool! This cake is one of my favorites!
I made this Hanna Montana birthday cake for my friend's 8 year old daughter.
I traced a real child-size guitar to get my pattern. I made a chocolate 13" x 9" cake and a yellow 13" X 9" cake and put them together end to end. The yellow cake formed the neck of the guitar with the chocolate forming the rest.
I then placed my cut-out on top of both cakes and cut it out. I used buttercream frosting, tinted different colors, to decorate it. I cut out a Hanna Montana picture and a few words from a foil poster and put them on the cake, making stars around them to hold them in place. I also put Hanna Montana on the foil at the neck and surrounded it with stars as well.
The cake was a hit: she loved it so much that she stuck her fingers in it and began eating it with her hands!
