Homemade Harry Potter Horcrux Cake

This Harry Potter Horcrux Cake is a homemade white cake with green butter cream frosting. The cake was then layered and coiled on top of each other. The head of the snake was shaped by using rice cereal and marshmallows. We did a dirty layer of frosting to get rid of crumbs and then smoothed with two additional thin layers by using a wet knife to get the right smootheness.

Also, instead of butter we used shortening as well as meringue powder in the frosting because it holds up better. The scales were painted with mixing food coloring with peppermint oil (or you could use any extract that has a high alcohol content). All the other Horcruxes were hand shaped made by using gum paste which set up nicely. All other painted embellishments were done with the same procedure as explained before.

This was done for Harry Potter's birthday party right after the sixth movie came out. It could be used for any one's Harry Potter party

I made this Homemade Harry Potter Birthday Cake Design for my wife's birthday. She is a big fan
of the books and movie. I started by making Devil food cake, she loves chocolate in the shape of a book. Tried something new. Made Cannoli filing, and butter-cream to cover cake before I put on Fondant ( butter-cream). Used Gold dust to paint sides of book. Now for the fun stuff.

I made modeling chocolate to make wand, snitch, hat, pouch for Jelly beans. Painted Snitch with gold dust. Made butter-cream Fondant to make scarf wings for snitch and letters for name. I printed a picture of Harry on rice paper, used some frosting to glue it to cake.

The cake came out great and every one loved the way it tasted. My wife was shocked when she
saw cake. It was the most fun making this cake very time consuming but fun.

Coolest Harry Potter Car Cake 2

Homemade Harry Potter Car Cake

Homemade Harry Potter Car Cake

I made this Harry Potter Car Cake about five years ago for a Harry Potter movie marathon party with some of my friends. I also recreated the cake for a friend's birthday a few months later and it was a lot easier the second time around.

I used the Wilton car cake pan. Then, I used a star tip to decorate the whole car. This was the only tip I knew how to use back then. I printed out a picture of Harry and Ron flying the car and laminated it so I could put it in the windshield inset of the car. I also looked up the license plate number and added it to the back of the car. It turned out to be very easy for such a cute cake!

Homemade Harry Potters Books Birthday Cake

Homemade Harry Potters Books Birthday Cake

I made this Harry Potters Books cake for my son's birthday; he loves Harry Potter.

The owl was made from a 3D bear cake that I sculpted into the shape of an owl, then covered with fondant. The books were made from a 1/2 sheet cake, cut in half, covered with buttercream and then with fondant. The hair was made using a pasta machine. I really enjoyed making this cake.

Homemade Harry Potter Monster Book Cake

Homemade Harry Potter Monster Book Cake

My friend's son wanted a cake and he is a fan of the Monster book. So I thought I would go for it. I haven't done anything like it before. I have two girls.

This Homemade Harry Potter Monster Book Cake has three layers of chocolate sponge with Nutella filling and then more chocolate as the crumb layer. Topped off chocolate fondant. The eyes are mini Chupa cups.
