This haunted house cake was for my office's Halloween Party. It is a 9 inch round on the bottom with an 8 inch round on top. I should have used dowels between the layers, but the leaning cakes actually turned out well. It ended up looking like a winding road leading up to the house on the top of the hill.
I made another cake to cut up and use as the house. I held it together by using tooth picks and also stuck it into the cake with toothpicks. I frosted some Milano cookies with grey frosting to look like tombstones and placed Jack O' Lantern PEEPS and gummy bats all around the side of the cake.
My brother-in-law's birthday is at the end of October so I took this opportunity to make a fun Halloween birthday cake. I made a Haunted House Birthday Cake.
I used a pre-cooked Wilton gingerbread house kit that I put together with icing and decorated and placed on a 9x13 cake. I dipped pretzels in melted chocolate and used the melted chocolate to "glue" the fence together.
I used a candy mold and melted chocolate to make the chocolate ghosts in the graveyard. Then I used Milano cookies and gel frosting for the tombstones. I found some chocolate rocks and used those as the walk way then used candy corn pumpkins for the pumpkin patch.
It was hit!

I made this cake for my son's birthday/ halloween party. the house is made out of rice crispy treats, while the roof of the house is made out of grapham crackers painted with black icing. the shutters are made out of molding chocolate. The inside of this cake was hallow so that at night i put a candle in it and made it glow. The bottom part of the cake was marble chocolate and butter. All of the icing on the cake that was used was buttercream icing.
