Mizael's quince

Mizael's quince

My son turned fifteen, I come from a Mexican family but raised here in the states, so he decides he wants a quincenera (a tradition for teen girls only) sort of a sweet 16, I said sure I'll make the cake, he wanted a luau theme party. So one day as I visited my In-laws I saw a plant stand laying in the dirt and I asked her if she was ever going to use she said she might one day, I said can I borrow it, sure she said so I took it home cleaned it up and decorated it with foam flowers I used on the invites and bought a long leigh and just taped it around, I used boxed cake mixes, they were banana, lemon and red velvet, I used whipped cream and for forty dollars you can buy a small air brush machine at michaels and used food coloring to spray my cakes green and red, the other I left plain white, the flowers on the cake are rice paper I bought at a cake store and used edible markers to draw them, I cut the flowers and just placed them on the cake, I died some coconut green and also sprinkled it around, the flavors were amazing, they were lemon with coconut, red velvet with fudge, and banana with fresh bananas in middle, yummy! I also bought the Hawaiian dancers at a local cake store. everyone loved the way the cake turned out.
