I baked this cake using a 11×15 wilton cake pan. 2 boxes of boxed cake mix was used. I greased the pan with wilton cake release which works wonderfully. My cakes never stick at all.
After I baked the cake and let cool. I crumb coated it with a thin layer of store bought frosting, Then let it set in the fridge, I mixed some purple frosting and let it set. I freehand drew hello kitty in white gel right onto the cake. Once I decided it looked like hello kitty to trace the outline in black, I then used the star method to fill hello kitty in. I piped the border with pink frosting and added some hearts and wrote happy birthday in white sparkle gel.
