I made this Hello Kitty birthday cake for my great niece who just loves Hello Kitty. Her reaction was so cute. She ran up to it and said "Hello Kitty! Hello Kitty!" Everyone was amazed at it because it stood up to a very long drive from Texas to La.
She was made of strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Her head was made of Rice Krispy. She was butter cream crumb coated and homemade fondant flavored in strawberry.
Her bow was made of gum paste. I added some star dusting powder to it and to the body as well. I also added some white pearls to her dress. Her arms were Rice Krispy covered with fondant.
I really had a lot of fun making this cake. It did take a lot of time and patience but, I love this for my family and friends.

This Hello Kitty birthday cake is one of my favorite creations. I really like to bake cakes, gingerbread etc. I'd like to be a confectioner one day.
My nieces have quite a rush on Hello Kitty, so I made this for them for their birthday. It's quite easy to make. It's a spongecake with strawberry filling. I downloaded a picture from the internet(the one on this page isn't really good, sorry), I cut it out, and that was the gauge. That's the most important part of the cake because of the 'special' proportion's of Hello Kitty.
I cut it, filled it and covered it with icing. The icing is only powdered(icing) sugar and a few drops of water and lemon juice. I used candies for the decoration.
I used Hello Kitty as the theme for my daughter's first birthday. I first iced the Hello Kitty birthday cake with white icing, then I iced the top of the cake with pink icing. I traced the Hello Kitty from a napkin on to wax paper and cut out the shape. I traced it on the cake with a toothpick and outlined it in black I filled in with a star tip.
I was really happy with the cake, especially since I just started decorating cakes. I also cut out the shape of the flowers from the same napkin (traced on wax paper) and piped the outline on the cake, then I filled them in with a star tip.
I made this hello Kitty birthday cake for my daughters 2nd birthday. I got the idea from this site. It turned out great. One of the ears was almost all icing, but no one ate that ear.
The cake was made from a large round pan, and then I cut out the top to make the ears. Used any leftover cake pieces to form the ears and attached with buttercream. The whiskers are licorice and the eyes also, that I cut the edges round with scissors. The nose is a piece of icing I colored yellow and then rolled into a ball, it was messy.
Everyone loved it! Used a box cake mix with strawberries and cream cheese filling.
