I made this Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for a friend's daughter's birthday. I had never made this cake before and I got my ideas here on this website since I couldn't find a cake pan.
I made 4 9" round cakes. I layered the first two round cakes and then I cut off the sides of the other two cakes to round out her face into an oval. I then cut out her ears from the remaining cake. I also cut out the bow from cake (although it is a little small). I used a star tip around the entire cake. I used jelly beans for the eyes and nose and black licorice for the whiskers. (I did end up changing the pick nose for a yellow one).
This cake was a lot of fun to make and it only took 4 hours.
I had never made character cakes before but I absolutely love Hello Kitty. I started my own baking business Nellie's diamond desserts after being let go from my job as a top seller for fafsa forms and realized I can perfect my craft and try to make a living while loving what I do. This Hello Kitty Birthday Cake happens to be a requested cake from my cousin for her daughter. How the heck will I pull this off??
Since I practically live in the store Michael's they sell the pan of Hello Kitty's face. All you need is the pan, a small star tip, food coloring and just carefully follow the piping pattern and some clear sprinkled for bling bling and ladies and gents you too shall have the beloved Hello Kitty cake.
My daughter wanted a Hello Kitty themed party, so of course I had to attempt a Hello Kitty Birthday Cake! I decided to include both Hello Kitty's head and body, and found an excellent image to copy.
I made two 9 inch round vanilla sponge cakes and printed out the head and body separately to use as templates. I then covered both pieces with a thin layer of buttercream in order to get the icing to adhere. I had fun deciding what colour to make Hello Kitty's dress, t-shirt and bow, using a flower blossom cutter to cut petals from the excess icing. These I used to frame Kitty on the white tray I was using for presentation.
My daughter was thrilled with her cake!

First of all, sorry, but I'm French, and my technical English skills for a cake are not very good. Have have done this Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for my daughter Alicia, for her 2 year birthday.
The base of the cake is a simple chocolate cake, which is fulled up in the middle of the cake with a chocolate cream. For the cake decoration I made a sugar paste with marshmallows (pink and white), and the same to make the Hello Kitty character. It was very fun to do it and my daughter was so happy.
This Hello Kitty Birthday Cake was made for the coolest 7 year old ever! My step daughter. She loves Hello Kitty and asked me months before her party that she wanted me to make her cake. I didnt think I was going to pull it off but when I showed it to her she had the biggest smile on her face!!!
It wasnt easy to make but it was worth the 2 hours it took me to do it!
I made this Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for my daughter who happened to be turning 23, and just LOVES Hello Kitty. It was a rich chocolate cake covered in a marshmallow fondant. I made the bow out of white modeling chocolate, covered it in pink fondant and sprinkled it with pink sugar crystals.
I almost couldn't get her to cut the cake because she felt like keeping it whole. I also made Hello Kitty cake pops to match.
