My friend asked me to make a Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for her. So I went online to order a Hello Kitty cake mold and there aren't any! So I ended up going online and found a pic that I liked and enlarged it to an 8x10 and printed it out. After cutting it out I placed it on wax paper and followed the outline with chocolate.
I let the chocolate set and then peeled away the pic and laid the chocolate outline of "Kitty" on the cake and started decorating! Wha-Laa! My Hello Kitty Birthday Cake was created. I added some royal icing lady bugs and bumble bees with some fondant flowers. First time for using fondant and making a H.K. cake!
My daughter is very much into Hello Kitty, so for her 5th birthday I decided to bake her a Hello Kitty birthday cake. Since she was having a party, the actual cake is a simple chocolate cake. I just had to quadruple the ingredients to get a decent size rectangular cake.
I covered the cake with simple glacè icing (coloured it pink) and when semi-soft I used liquorice rolls (rolled out) into strips to outline Hello Kitty. I then prepared butter icing (pink and white) and starting filling in the spaces. The liquorice actually helped me keep it all neat and tidy and this was the result.
This is a 2-layer, 9 inch Hello Kitty Birthday Cake I made for my boyfriend who happens to like Hello Kitty! It is a home-made strawberry cake with vanilla butter cream icing. For the white face of Hello Kitty, I used a Wilton Sugar Sheet. As a template, I printed a coloring book page I found online, cut it out, and traced the outline onto the sugar sheet with an edible marker. I then lightly drew on the bow, eyes, nose, and whiskers. After placing the sugar sheet on the cake, I piped on all the details with tinted vanilla butter cream icing. The cake was a hit!
I wanted something unique for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday. I searched and searched and finally came across a picture of a Hello Kitty Birthday Cake so I drew an outline with black gel icing on the cake. Then I simply filled in the picture with an old recipe for buttercream frosting. Just added some coloring and used a star tip.
The eyes were black jelly beans and the mouth too, was a yellow jelly bean. The whiskers were thin strips of black licorice.
I made this Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for myself. I printed out a picture of princess HK and traced the outline with a toothpick. For the colors I used gel icing, and the white parts I just used frosting but to get in the small places I used a butter knife and dipped it in milk occasionally to make it smoother.
I made this Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for my daughter's third birthday. It is a two tier "Fun-fetti" cake mix with a layer of buttercream frosting. I covered the cake with a homemade marshmallow fondant and made colored polka dots from the fondant.
I added a pink fondant bow and a cute Hello Kitty candle.
