I made this Hello Kitty Cake Idea for my boyfriend's sister, who loves Hello Kitty. It turned out much better than I expected it to. I've seen so many wonderful cakes on this site, which were my inspiration, but I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off, as I'd never done anything like this before.
I had to try to make this cake twice, as the first time the cake refused to release from the pan when I tried to flip it out. So, the second time I lined the pan with aluminum foil and sprayed it with baking spray and left enough foil to where I could grab it and just lift the cake out when it was cooled. I found that tip online, so if you have a problem with cakes sticking, it is definitely worth a try because it worked PERFECTLY for my cake.
After the cake was cooled, I removed it from the pan and wrapped it in foil and put it in the freezer for about two to three hours. Then I set my Hello Kitty template on the cake, secured with toothpicks, and cut around it. I then applied a crumb coat and left the cake in the refrigerator for about an hour. I then applied another coat of frosting and smoothed it out as best I could.
The cake itself is chocolate/vanilla marble, both store-bought mixes. And the frosting is whipped vanilla frosting. I used licorice for the whiskers and jelly beans for the eyes and nose. The bow is made from red fondant, which I learned how to do by watching YouTube videos.

Homemade Rose Bouquet Hello Kitty Birthday Cake
This gorgeous Rose Bouquet Hello Kitty Birthday Cake was baked and decorated to celebrate a little girl’s 7th birthday.
This one-tier cake was made with a 10” round cake pan. The yummy flavor was French Vanilla with Strawberry Filling. Hello Kitty is this little girl’s favorite now. She specifically wanted that plus roses to be included as part of the cake. The fondant and roses were color coordinated with the store bought Hello Kitty figurine.
Great overall response by the guests!

I MADE THIS FOR MY DAUGHTERS 5TH BIRTHDAY, A VICTORIA SPONGE, BUTTERCREAMED THEN COVERED IN FONDANT,USED MY TOOL TO MAKE IT LOOKED QUILTED. I SHAPED THE HELLO KITTY OUT OF A SINGLE TIER OF SPONGE AND COVERED IN WHITE FONDANT. I USED JELLY BEANS FOR THE EYES AND NOSE AND THE LIQOURICE FROM A SHERBERT FOUNTAIN CUT INTO 6 STRIPS FOR THE WHISKERS.
