Homemade Hello Kitty Cake Idea

Homemade Hello Kitty Cake Idea

I bought a Costco cake with nothing on it (just purple border from the Costco baby carriage cake). I did this because I needed a large cake and it is only $16. Then I used some purple spray food coloring (from Michael's or JoAnn's). Then I added purple edible glitter.

Next I rolled out Wilton white fondant and used a template from the internet of Hello Kitty's head. Very easy to roll out and cut. Then I used pre-made Wilton fondant flowers, jelly beans and black licorice wheels (unrolled) for face. I used a small piece of fondant and brushed it with water to use as "glue" between the candies and the fondant to make it stick. Worked like a charm.

My six-year old loved my homemade Hello Kitty cake idea!! All the party supplies (also Hello Kitty) came from Target.

Homemade Hello Kitty Cake Idea

I made this Hello Kitty Cake Idea for my friend's 40th birthday party. She is a huge Hello Kitty fan as am I and wanted a beach theme. So this was a lot of fun for me to make.

I used 5 boxes of cake mix. The bottom layer is one chocolate cake made from a square pan. Each tier of the cake was 2 layers then frosted with Duncan Hines frosting. I used candy necklaces for the small flower and used candy melts with sea shell molds.

I crushed graham crackers for the sand. It was a lot of work but well worth it when I saw how happy she was.

Homemade Hello Kitty Halloween Cake

Homemade Hello Kitty Halloween Cake

My girls birthdays are just a week apart and are close to Halloween so they requested a Halloween cake for their birthday. I made a two tiered cake and covered with buttercream then topped with marshmallow fondant. Hello Kitty is a favorite character of theirs so I took a coloring book page I found on the internet and cut out each piece individually then cut a piece of fondant to match that piece.

I also made the investment of purchasing the fondant letter cutters with my 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby and I'm so glad I finally bought them because it made the world of difference in the Hello Kitty Halloween Cake.

Homemade Hello Kitty Figurine Cake

Homemade Hello Kitty Figurine Cake

I made this Hello Kitty Figurine Cake especially for my customer who requested a cake with Hello Kitty figurine on top of the cake. The cake flavor is Pandan layered cake and then I covered with pink butter cream.

On top of the cake I covered fondant so that I can put Hello Kitty figurine and fondant wording on it. Hello Kitty figurine I made using fondant. I just referred to youtube videos on how to make fondant figurine. I really loved to make it and I enjoyed it very much.
