My family’s favorite is red velvet cake, so for our family get together I decided to do the dessert. I just got into cake decorating recently so this is what I came up with fun and delicious cake. The frosting is buttercream, stars and strips are made of fondant and attached to wire to poke out from the top and sides. I stenciled out the letters. The decorations on top were purchased at a local arts and craft store to bring a little boom to the cake. This was a double tiered cake, I find that using plastic straws will work just as well as using dowels with a small cake such as this one. I have just learned how to do fondant and it was easy to get prepared ahead of time so I could just decorated my cake once I
had frosted it. Also, by putting the cake in the refrigerator once it is frosted before putting the fondant on it makes it a lot easier. I hope you all enjoy.
