Homemade Candy Cake

This is a 3 tier cake. I used an 8×2, 6×2 and a 4×2. I did 2 layers of the 8×2 and 6×2. I made a chocolate cake for the bottom tier, strawberry in the middle and vanilla on top. Once cooled I iced them all with buttercream and then covered in marshmallow fondant that I made. I had to put wooden dowels wrapped in cling wrap between the tiers with small cardboard pieces to keep it sturdy and in place. Also at the end I put one long piece of dowel right throught the middle. I coloured the fondant and cut out stripes, circles and hearts with tools I got at a cake store. I dusted the pink and yellow with pearl dust. The jellybeans have toothpicks to help hold them in place. As does the #3 candle. I also did a ribbon and bow with green fondant around the the 2 bigger tiers to hide the slight gap. The lollipops are bought and I just cut the sticks down and pushed them in. My husband cut my daughter’s name out of the coloured fondant also. It wasn’t a difficult cake to make but extremely time consuming. It has taken me 6+hours, but totally worth it.
