Homemade Flower and Butterfly Birthday Cake

My daughter Abby was having a birthday and she loves butterflies. I pre-made the flowers and butterflies out of gum paste and fondant, let them harden for two days. I used letter templetes to cut out her name and let it harden for two days also. The top layer of the cake was strawberry and the bottom was yellow. After icing the cake, I smoothed out the icing with a viva paper towel. I used water and dissolved gumpaste in it to form a glue. This is what I used to attach the butterflies and flowers. I glued white Wilton sucker sticks on the back of each letter and let dry. I stuck them in the top layer of the cake. I put a shell trim around each layer of the cakes. It was a hit, she loved it!
