I made this cake using box cake mixes, home-made marshmallow fondant colored with Wilton gel paste, and the icing is home-made almond buttercream. The inside was made by coloring the cake mix with the same Wilton gel paste in small amounts and pouring on top of each other in the pan which makes a rainbow of colors. This makes a very happy surprise!! The decorations are a Hello Kitty figure from Wal-Mart, Hello Kitty rings and sugar shamrocks from a local cake supply shop, and jelly beans. The shamrocks were a request by the parent since her daughter’s birthday was on St. Patrick’s Day. I used them as leaves for the “flowers” just to incorporate them into her cake.
