Homemade princess castle cake

I made this cake using a square tin, making 2cakes with standard sponge mix from my favourite recipe book. I then made them into a Victoria sponge by adding jam and buttercream. I then covered the cake in vanilla frosting, I then put chocolate chip muffins on each corner that I cut flat, I then put an icecream cone upside down on each muffin to create the turrets I covered each icecream cone in pink candy melts and sprinkled with pink sugar. I then put alternate pink and white mini marshmallows around the top edge to make the top of the castle walls. I then piped pink buttercream around the bottom edge of the cake, I then piped the writing with a pink writing pen and added repunzul from tangled. I then added squares of chocolate for the draw bridge and smarties for the path.

My niece was absolutely amazed and loved that it had her name and repunzul from tangled as she wants to be her!

I was really pleased with how it came out as this was one of the first cakes I made and feel it started my love for baking and decorating cakes
