stack the cakes and frost with yellow tinted butter cream. I added sugar candy flowers and bugs along with a grass tip to bring spring to the cake. The cupcakes were made of extra cake batter decorated with the grass tip and we used floral wire with buttercream to put the flowers on the wire.
The bumble bee is made from the wilton mini bear pan with the ears cut off. Use brown not black as many people were dyed black from the amount of color you have to add to get the fosting to stay black. He has a pink birthday hat on to hide the wooden dowel that was needed to hold him on and the cakes together.
The butterfly you see was supposed to be the bumble bees wings but they were way too heavy and nearly pulled the bee off. I would not try this again I think it looked just as good without.
