Lego cake

My son couldn't decide on a specific lego theme for his cake. So I decided to use a few of his favorites. So I made a three layer cake and each cake had a certain lego theme. I used two different sized skillets and a pot to bake the cakes. I used buttercream frosting with appropriate coloring for each layer. I used orange frosting on the bottom layer with broken Hershey bar pieces to make the Power Miners layer. Next, I used desert sand colored frosting on the for the Pirate layer. Then lastly, I used blue frosting with white dots (to be stars) for the top layer for Space Police. We made a birthday sign that was similar to the lego logo to say "happy birthday". I made the cakes a few days in advance and kept them in the fridge till I was ready to frost them the day before the party. It made the day of the party much simpler because all I had to do was add the legos to finish decorating the cake.
