My daughter Kylie turned 5 this birthday, and she is all into the little pet shop toys..so i really wanted to make her cake using some of her little toys and this cake is what i came up with..everyone loved it!! It looked pretty and tasted good too!
This cake was very simple..on the bottom layer i used strawberry cake mix, in a 13/9 oval glass dish. Then i split a chocolate cake mix in half and made two rounds..one smaller than the other. I also just bought the icing..creamcheese frosting and used food coloring to get the desired colors. I stacked the cakes and didnt even have to use toothpicks just a spoonful of frosting under the two rounds to stick them..but not too much so they wouldnt slide off. Then i just frosted with the green and left a space down the middle for the waterfall. I piped the blue icing on the sides and just used a spatula to fill it in. To finish it off i just piped little flowers and used pet shop toys that my daughter already had! SO this cake was very inexpensive! And so much fun to make!
